Scattered clouds, increasing thru the day, -5 C observed at trailhead at 10 a.m. Light snow flurries starting 12:30 p.m., intermittent rest of afternoon. Light winds.

Snowpack

Variable depth, down to 20cm on south aspects, 60-80cm on SW/W aspects, up to 114cm on north aspect in sheltered trees below the 11,480 flat bench. 40cm of depth hoar in a quick pit on the north aspect, with a P/K knife layer 65cm from ground. CTH on depth hoar, Q3. Widespread whumpfing, shooting cracks, up to 100ft on NW,W, SW aspects, at treeline and below.
