Snowpack

I dug at 11,600 ft on a NE aspect. 80cm deep with the top 35 cm being the last two storm layers. I got 4 CT 11 Q2 (clean but slow)shears on the same interface. This interface 2 weeks ago was a slight M/F layer but had been eliminated by faceting and there was no longer a notable crust present. The upper snowpack was much more supportive than last week and ski pen was only 10-15 cm. Boot pen was all the way to the ground, however. This upper 35 cm of the snow pack is what has consolidated into a weak slab that has been gaining strength, but has not provided the entire snowpack with any gains in strength. The underlying facets are still very much present.
