We skied Baldy Rocks to the south, traversed over to the crags in the southwest, and returned by crossing the pass. Afterward, we skinned up to descend into Baldy Rocks to the west, making our way back to the car. The 15 cm of fresh snowfall on Friday night improved conditions, resulting in enjoyable skiing on gentler slopes. Despite the favorable conditions, steeper sections presented challenges with lurking sharks that wanted to chop at our ski bases. The SW descent on the crags had some variable snow (wind effect). The new snow exhibited some slabbing on steep southern aspects, particularly after being exposed to the sun. There were no signs of avalanches on the surrounding slopes. The weather remained mostly sunny with mild winds and cold temps in the shade.
