Winters encore ?❄❄?

Our hopes weren't high when we left Fernie in the rain but as we got to Sparwood it turned to snow and stayed that way all day. We sledded from Corbin staging area on snow with great coverage (watch out for deep puddles lurking) up to Raingauge. It was a bit shocking after the warm weather we've been having to be out in proper winter conditions. Strong wind from the south east was blowing the 10 cm of new snow into wind slabs that were up to 30 cm thick. We tested one and it propagated in our extended column test indicating instability. These pockets of wind slab weren't large but they haven't bonded yet so we stayed away from them.
