Triggered size one avalanche on SW face of Able on Saturday Feb 9 at treeline elevation. Avalanche danger for that region was moderate. Skinned into small wind loaded pocket and initiated slide. One skier caught, travelled approximately 4 metres before coming to rest against a tree. Not buried, no lost gear, no injuries. The crown line went up the ridge approximately 15 metres. The slide to the skiers right slid significantly further, traveled approximately 40 metres. The slide was a 10 and 15 cms wind slab sliding on top of the prevalent crust layer that formed two weeks ago.
