Skied some mellow trees on the East side of the highway. Snow quality was good and not wind affected. We dug a pit at 1260m on an East facing slope and found a reactive layer 45-50cms down (sudden planar release on easy). Found the same layer between 1000-1200m doing a couple of hand shear tests. The early December rain crust was at 105cm and released on moderate. It snowed intermittently throughout the day and was snowing steadily when we left the pass. Warm temps and wet snow at the end of the day felt like a coastal ski day!
