Vermillion Peak

Large inversion above 2000m at vermillion peak today (-11 in the car and above 0 around 2100m. -8 when back to the car at 2:00pm). Big hoar frost crystals below 2000m. Found fresh tracks on the southwest aspect above tree line below the peak and in the open trees above one of the more western drainages towards haffner. The drainage itself lower down has seen some love. Things were getting a little wet by afternoon. Did not linger with the solar input. Not a breath of wind. No signs of instability, no evidence of windslabs, ridge walk was heavily corniced toward the north. Gorgeous views with a cloud blanket below looking towards Radium. Busy with at least 5 different parties a couple with 6+ people. Overall a great day out.
