Weather

Mostly cloudy with a few breaks but generally low visibility. Consistent strong winds from the west and snowing S-1 for most the day. Storm conditions definitely more intense toward Breckenridge.

Snowpack

This part of the zone has seen more wind than snow compared to the mountains further north. Coverage was limited to leeward faces and concave features. Most surfaces exposed to the wind have a moon-scaped texture and are void of any soft snow. In areas where the new snow has collected, 3-6" of new, well-bonded wind slabs have formed. No cracks were observed in the new snow and no collapses in the old. We didn't make it too far into the alpine, but given the shallower snowpack I would assume there is plenty of weak snow lurking below more recently formed slabs from the last two weeks.
