Weather

The weather on Saturday was cold in the morning, warming rapidly towards noon.

Snowpack

Fresh storm layer with lots of wind loading. Heavy new snow over weak bottom layer. Ran to the ground in places.

Avalanche

Likely triggered Saturday 1/12/2019. Summit County SAR got a call about it Sunday morning, observed from a tour guide at Good Times. I volunteer with the rescue group and happen to be recreating nearby, so headed over with one other team member when we got the page. So probably 24 hours old, but looks like a snowmobile and 1 person were possibly partially buried. You can see from the photos and video, but there was 1 snowmobile sized hole dug out at the foot of the avalanche, and another small person size hole dug out just uphill.150' long crown was on a 35-ish degree slope right at treeline. I did not inspect the crown, but looked to vary in height from 1-4'. Ran about 300' down onto a flat bench.

Looks to be TL E HS AM R2 D2-3

In the video you can see the snowmobile size hole and evidence of digging followed by the smaller uphill hole.
