Weather
Cloudy skies, moderate snow, and strong southwest winds. 10-12" new snow accumulation by early afternoon. Temperatures in the 20s at Pass level.
Snowpack
New snow was less dense than expected. Signs of instability were minimal on east aspects near and below treeline. Observed some minor cracking with testing- no avalanche release. Found numerous touchy fresh cornices. Strong winds were scouring windward terrain at treeline.
Avalanche
Visibility was poor- almost non-existent. No activity was observed in indicator slopes along the highway corridor.
