Snowpack

In our small test pit we found HS 235cm, approximately 10cm F snow (from most recent snowfall) on top of roughly a meter of 1F snow (January storm).

Avalanche

Just before Deadwood Gulch narrows, we skied a N aspect at approximately 11250' that had isolated pockets of hard wind slab and soft snow. Two turns into the pitch, a wind slab released, and traveled quickly downslope, releasing another isolated wind slab on a steep convexity roughly 40 meters downslope.
