Avalanche

Location 39.4658, -105.8233 Approx 3mile SE of Whale Peak. You can see this slope from 285 heading towards fairplay. We estimate the crown was 10-12 feet at its deepest, spanning approx 1500 feet wide according to caltopo measurements. SE aspect, 11,600 elevation. The avalanche most likely happened 3/9, no evidence it was skier triggered. I measured the debris pile in several locations and my 320cm probe did not touch the ground in several spots. Shallowest was 290cm. We saw several trees snapped, one stump I saw was 8 in diameter.
