Crystal clear blue sky Colorado day. Mild winds with temps rising as the sun hit the valley.
Snowpack
Variable. Significant wind-effect on east slopes near and above treeline with a 6-10cm thick wind crust over old faceted snow. Southerlies below treeline held 20-30cms of fluffy new snow sitting on rocks and shrubbery. Remarkable woomphing throughout tour on east and northeast facing slopes near and above treeline.
Avalanche
Natural size D2 on northeast aspect with failure on alpine face funneling into large gully below. Numerous size D1s on northeast and east, natural, remote and skier-triggered.
