Weather

Surprisingly calm in the alpine as the previous nights storm was making a final exit. A light breeze out of the northwest. Clouds increased from 10 to 2:00pm and flurries ensued. Felt like Winter.

Snowpack

Found 15-20cm of new unconsolidated higher density fluff near the headwaters of Cement Creek. I did not find wind effected surface conditions along my travels on west and north aspects from 12-12,800 ft. I can see the storm snow posing a concern and potentially elevating danger if the winds ramped up tonight. Varying depths from 40cm to 110cm were found with layers of decomposing crusts sandwiched with a mostly faceted snowpack. Finding a noticeable lack of the supportability in the snowpack each week. Today (boot pen 65cm) skis (30cm).

Avalanche

Handful of Loose Dry sluffs initiated out of the same steep rocky ridge. Less than D1's. Had an appearance that they had shed during the night as tracks were slightly re-filled.
