Skies varied from Obscured and snowing hard to Broken skies with glimmers of sun. Winds gradually increased over the morning, from light to moderate.

Snowpack

An almost unbelievable 20" of low density snow overnight at Buff Pass, with another 4-6" this morning. Total snow depth was around 180cm in open areas. Wind impacted areas had an interface about 100cm above the ground that was easy to shear and broke on a compression test as well (STE, CT20 (RP) @100cm above the ground). I couldn't observe this interface in open (less wind impacted) areas. We had a little cracking around wind sculpted areas, see pic. This was very fresh wind slab from today.
