Snowpack

There was very little transported snow today. Many gully features look to be cross loaded from recent westerly winds. The slab is fairly stiff in most areas and there is little evidence that it is still reactive.---Out of wind affected terrain I dug on a northeast-facing, near-treeline slope. I found the snow depth to be about 110 cms with a strong (although generally faceted) slab over weak snow near the ground. The depth hoar was weakest from 15 to 30 cms from the ground and propagation potential was shown in tests. Results were ECTP28 and PST 25/100 END.---I also dug on a southwest-facing, near-treeline slope and found a snowpack depth of 43 cms with fist-hard faceted snow near the ground. There are two MF crusts in the pack but they are fairly thin and weak and not characteristic of a normal southerly slope.
