Minnihaha Basin W aspect 11,600' -8C Overcast to broken with occasional light flurries
Snowpack
NW ASP 11,000' HS = 1m. HST = 35 cm/14". Low density storm snow overlying a primarily faceted lower snowpack. In area skied in undisturbed locations mid pack slab appear s to have faceted out and the snow below HST is homogenous and lacking propagation potential beyond a few meters leading to trapdoor conditions noted in other observations. Some results to ski tests on steep unsupported terrain but very localized, and settlements noted above T/L out in basin. Skied and traveled very conservatively.
Avalanche
Minnihaha Basin W asp 12,600' 2X D2 R1. Storm slabs released below rockbands, approx. 11AM this morning. Possible snowmobile remote but likely natural. Clothesline SE asp 11,600' 2 X D1.5/2 R1 Storm slabs released post storm. Steep open slope avalanches initiated at convexities. Susp suncrust/facet interface under HST
