North aspect, 9700’, 80cm total snow height. Snow pit showed bottom 20 cm of depth hoar/basal facets. Performed 3 compression tests. 1st test failed on tap 20 on the layer just above the depth hoar. 2nd test produced the same results. Last test failed on tap 18 on the same layer. Ski cutting and jumping on a 45° rollover did not produce any collapsing, cracking or sliding, however.
