Light loading formed only shallow soft slabs in isolated areas below sharp ridgelines.

East aspect at 12,200': 35cm of F to 4F hard slab above 1/22 layer that did not propagate in an extended column test. This is the layer of concern in the San Juans as our storm arrives this weekend. Below this sits a dense pencil to knife midback from previse wind events. 35 cm of large loose grains on the ground that would take a very large load become a problem in this area.
