Weather

Obscured most of the time. The sun broke through more and more as the morning progressed. Below freezing and S-1 flurries at times. Ridge wind dissipated to mostly calm by 12:30pm.

Snowpack

60-75cm of snow on an east aspect at 12,200ft. 5cm on pencil hard snow. A layer of 2-4mm facets sit 15cm. Windloaded areas have up to 60cm of snow on this layer. Test results were CTV just below the recent stormslab. Another test result of CTM(12)SP down 70 on 1-2mm facets below a series of pencil snow layers. Snow profile depths maybe slightly skewed due to proximity to the corniced ridge line. No other avalanches were visible from the ridge.

Avalanche

We remote triggered a R2D1 on a East aspect at 12,200ft from 6ft away, while digging a profile. The deepest part of the crown was 50cm and only 5cm in places.
