Blacksmith Ridge

Observed a fairly recent size 1.5 avalanche on the NE aspect of Blacksmith Ridge near the skin track leading up the ridge. Snow was fairly wind affected at tree line. Dug a pit just below tree line and found that the top 20cm wind slab failed while isolating a column. Failure sometimes down to another wind slab surface roughly 50cm down.
