Heavens Gate

Went to have a look at the Heavens Gate couloir. Turned back at 2230m due to our 2:00pm turn around time. Vary little snow and tough travel up the trail. treeline was fairly wind affected, with 1-2cm of fresh from the night before. The couloir itself held 15-50cm of soft snow, with a small 20cm wind slab at the entrance that was producing moderate hand shears. No signs of propagation or cracking were observed. No signs of recent avalanches.
