Sky Pilot Basin

We skied the upper basin from Sky Pilot's W ridge. Snow was densely wind packed powder, no signs of instability after the wide-spread natural activity that must have occurred at the peak of Saturday's storm. The storm snow seems well settled and no whoompfs, shooting cracks, or slab properties were observed even in steep terrain. Snow quality improved to Duffey-like champagne at treeline and below in sheltered areas.
