Winds blustery through day. Solar strong, protected snow surfaces moist at 11,000 feet.

Below treeline snowcover receding quickly. Sunny aspects 10-80cm deep and isothermic by mid-afternoon.North and protected slopes 60-120cm deep, punchy and unconsolidated on afternoon. East slopes near treeline showed moist surface snow, 6cm thick mfc 10cm from surface. P to 1F hardness (rounds)180 - 75 from ground. Facets @ 75cm 0.5-1mm 1F. Found thinner spot to dig near rocks, depth 137cms. Depth hoar nonreactive, with exception of One test result (Deep tap test 23@67 from ground) system: 0.5-1mm rounds, 1-3mmfacets(failure layer) over 1-3mm depth hoar.
