Weather

Mostly cloudy with light precip in the morning. Snow began to come heavier in the afternoon but was not really accumulating much when we left around 1400. I heard later that Vail pass was closed in both directions so I am guessing things picked up and more snow fell after we left.

Snowpack

A melt freeze crust pretty much covered the run top to bottom. We found a couple soft turns but good snow was really pretty scant. These were the worst skiing conditions I have encountered this year. It was still a nice day skinning in the wilderness though! No crack, collapsing or other signs of instability were noted
