Just a few clouds. Temps stayed below freezing during time in the field. Strong radiation. Above treeline moderate NW winds were transporting snow in the morning hours. Transport stopped around 1pm. Strong wind only affected alpine areas.
Snowpack
22 cm of storm snow in this area from Sunday's storm. Below treeline, this new snow rested on a melt freeze crust on all aspects. Wet grains and moist snow were found below the crust. New snow well bonded to old surface. Storm snow layer became moist on sunny aspects by mid day. Northwest winds above treeline resulted in light blowing snow during the morning hours. Less wind effect on the snowpack at treeline in this area.
