Snowpack

Snowpack on South side of the canyon (not were avalanches were observed) 1-2ft of fresh above a harder layer Our group was snowmobiling in low angle meadows so minimal analysis was done. No collapses or woopfs heard on small, steep, isolated terrain features.

Avalanche

3 small 25-75ft wide pockets released from SE aspect under powerlines. These were natural triggered R1D1 storm slabs and only ran a short distance (see pic). Large R3D2 slide was observed apx 1 mile down canyon from the 3 small slabs, just up canyon from buff mtn. We were too far away from the slide to see if it naturally released but there were snowmobile tracks in the area. This avalanche likely reached the creek bottom.
