Classic spring day were upper elevations temperatures reminded you of the heart of winter while the valleys were very warm and tropical. Skies remained overcast for most of the day while only a few flakes of snow were observed. The wind was 20mph sustained at higher elevations but easily escapable the lower you went in elevations.

Snowpack

Then new snow from this weekends storm is bonding well to the existing bed surface. New snow above treeling ranges from 8-30 inches deep. There is a slight change in density in the middle of the new snow that was formed when the sun came out for a short period of time on Saturday. Today, winds formed a 4 finger wind slab in isolated areas. The snow remains cold and dry at upper elevations on Northerly slopes and in predicted areas. At near and below treeline the snow surface is wet and the new snow has settled exponentially.
