Snowpack

Frozen surface about 5 to 10 cm thick on the ascent in the timber. Below the crust the snowpack had little structure. We did an ECT on a 30 degree N aspect slope at Treeline which required significant force to create failure which was clean and across the whole block, at the slab/depth hoar interface about 55 cm deep (see attached snowpit). (I rested shovel on block and then did 3 very hard stomps with ski boot)
