Snowpack

Slate River Valley: Toured east facing terrain below treeline today. Wx: Calm winds, cold (mid 20's), overcast, snowing very lightly. Observed a few naturals on east facing terrain, below rollovers and rock bands. Snow was fast and silky on E and NE aspects, but if the pitch turned slightly to the south, a thin suncrust had started to form on the top. No signs of instability while skiing but we kept it pretty low angle (under 35 degrees).
