Snowpack

SNOWPACK: HS 160-180cm near the ridge in first bowl. Smaller HS in the steep 40 degree plus start zones below the ridge. The recent storm snow was around 30cm and again much less on the steeper start zones. The 40 plus degree slopes had a mostly weak structure capped by shallow slab. Less then 40 degree slopes still had a weak structure capped by thicker and more cohesive slabs. In the afternoon there were areas of moist snow in the north facing forest where the sun could shine through. Other northern slopes that were low angel and received sun shine had a thin crust by late afternoon. Ski pen was about 25-30cm and boot pen would have been close to full depth in the steeper areas but was not observed.
