Great conditions at Wendy Thompson hut over the past 4 days (Dec 31 to Jan 3). North facing slopes were holding powder well, though starting to get a bit heavy below the lake with today's warming. 5 cm fresh snow and still falling when we left around noon. We rode plenty of steep and alpine slopes with no signs of instability. A bit wind slabby or stiff snow in exposed areas up high but no sliding. South sun-exposed slopes are terrible breakable crust from Dec 31, to be avoided at all costs. Overall lots of great snow up there and good conditions for exploring!
