Mount Kostuik, Core Lodge area

Dug quick pit on east side of Mt. Kostuik. Hs 125 cm. 30 cm depth hoar at base, 65 cm settled snow, 35 cm storm snow (wind affected). Moderate compression and shear test results midway through storm snow layer and at the base of it. Settled snow is relatively strong, with a few hard shear results in the middle of it. Easy collapse on depth hoar layer. Cutting of a small roll made the storm snow release in places, but not anything deeper.
