North Face of Cheops, the Shelf

We were a group of two with the goal of going for an alpine walk, We made the approach to Cheops North ridge with the idea of maybe skiing "the shelf" and when we got to the entrance a group was already in the line. We didn't want to make snow falling on them, so we skied back down to STS. Maybe another time! Like they say; you snooze you lose! Good job to the team that skied this line. On the way down we skied the shoulder of Cheops SW which was heavily sun affected. Skiers left of STS was dry snow and the bottom of the slope was variable.
