We intended to ski the nw couloir on Wedge Mountain. On our approach we noticed a natural size 1 wind slab crown. It released from mid path of the couloir. It was in the lookers right branch of the couloir. In addition we saw a lot of drifting snow at the ridgelines and alot of terrain that was not sheltered was wind stripped and or wind affected. We infer that the strong winds were loading the couloir, not just at the top but also mid slope so we didnt feel like we could adequately test the slope before we could ski it. So the hogs turned around.
