Trip to the Blackcomb backcountry. Minus 3 in alpine but warming to +3 at treeline during the day. North facing slopes skied really well with solar effect already on E, W and a crust developing on S aspects. Good sized cornice chunks dropped on a E facing slopes without propagation. Did not see or hear the whumphs reported at treeline. Did check out the slides + triggers reported at treeline which ran on the melt freeze crust.
