We were skinning up towards Sifton with the aim of having a mellow ski in the alpine. Since it was clouding over and the light was flat, we aimed for a small knob with a gentle approach climbers right and a steep slope to the left. As we made our way up, we heard a whumpf and saw a small slab release on the steep slope around some rocks. It wasn't anything threatening, but it did provide some good feedback on what to be wary of on the way down. Other than that, snow quality was excellent. If only the sun had stayed out so we could have enjoyed more of a ski in the alpine.
