HST averaged 40cm @ 1600m. Variable cloudiness and good winter temps. Strong winds from the W created quite variable condition in open terrain, and heavily loaded leeward slopes. Lots of natural activity observed on E aspects between 1500-1700m. Excellent ski quality in sheltered areas above 1200m.

Incident

Comment

Skier accidental size 1.5 N aspect @ 1680m in a cross loaded gully feature. Hard slab w/ 15-20cm crown propagated from above second rider, and ran close to 200m down slope. Rider managed to escape the slab and hold in safety, riding the bed surface the remainder of the run. Further observations found significant natural activity occuring on E aspect features, similarly loaded, throughout the area.
