Northern San Juan

Weather
Very cold and unsettled. Partly to mostly cloudy skies. Gusty W-NW winds moving snow at all elevations and affecting multiple aspects as it tracked thru drainages.
Snowpack
The snowpack remains thin with lots of early season hazards. Snowpack on northerly terrain near and below treeline is weak with little layering and slab properties continue to dissolve with the faceting process. Strong NW winds were affecting all open terrain today, with gusts rolling through even in below treeline areas. Lots of snow moving around today.
Avalanche
So no new avalanche activity other than a long running sluff from ridge of The Turk.
