snow depth dramatically increases at elevation of 11-11.5k feet. about one meter on the ground above 11k ft, aspect dependent. almost anything but north facing has developed a sun crust. generally strong over weak layering, with 4F/4F+ facet underneath 1F rounds/windslab anywhere exposed. advanced facets around thin areas and willows. 4F to F snow anywhere unaffected by wind or sun (N-NE facing trees.) boot pen to ground in these areas, ski pen anywhere from 15cm-60cm. more ski pen, advanced faceting around thin areas and stumps, willows, rocks, etc. start zones are VERY windloaded. large, convex pillows very prevalent above treeline on se-e-ne-n.
