Snowpack

5" of snow out of this last storm, with this morning's HST 4" w/ .3 " of water. HS 29". YTD: 81". The new snow is sitting on top of the a significant crust (Dec 21 crust). This crust has facets above and below and will potentially be problematic for us. On a west aspect at 11,800' got a shooting crack 60' at this interface in a cross-loaded Gully (Thread). Also in a profile got a CT1, CTV and ECTPV (while cutting) SC / Q - 1, 7 cm down below the crust. This crust new snow interface is the first one we are seeing that has produced shooting cracks and easy test results w/ propagation potential. There are also a couple different facet layers in the mid pack and lower that will potentially fail with a large load. These layers lack a clean bed surface and are thicker than 10cm. The bottom 12cm is a Pencil hard melt freeze facet layer on ground (sintering facets?)
