Snowpack

Snow surfaces became moist to wet on southerly aspects with some rollerballs. On west and southwest terrain above treeline: Most of Wednesday night’s snowfall is blown away, with old tracks, crowns, etc still visible. Isolated pockets of hardslab, between 3” to 12” thick on crossloaded features were unreactive to ski cuts and airblasts.

Avalanche

On a west facing, near-treeline slope, an explosive triggered a shallow soft slab that failed below the Valentine's day rain crust on preserved facets. Fresh crown/debris from very large avalanche off of the S,SE, E face of Richmond, ATL. First saw the crown yesterday, but got a better look today. Estimated HS-N-R4-D3-O, ~2000 feet wide, 10+ feet deep(?). Guessing it failed Thursday or Friday.
