Snowpack

An intense storm cell in the afternoon produced around 5 cm of pea sized graupel near 13,000 feet. This graupel sluffed down the 38 degree slope we were traveling on and was deposited up to 6 inches thick in micro terrain features. The graupel made for a very reactive interface once buried by around 5 to 8 inches of cohesive storm slab. Not sure how widespread this graupel was deposited, as I didn't find it below treeline on our way out, but it's worth looking out for.
