Off and on snow showers, mid 20's, NE wind, 10-20mph.
Snowpack
Frozen spring base with 12" new snow in open areas near and below treeline. Some collapsing of old snow in sheltered locations in lower elevations without solid freeze and insulated by new snow. Much less new snow in the trees, where wet snow has stuck to branches. No signs of instability on open slopes up to 40 degrees. No sluffing, no storm slab instability witnessed on east aspects near and below treeline. Some wind slab formation on SE-SW aspects NTL. Good skiing in somewhat dense snow, with old crust snow surface evident on each turn.
