Snowpack

South facing slopes below treeline exposed to sun had a supportable crust.North through east aspects near treeline were 180 - 200+cm deep. Multiple buried surface hoar layers found near treeline in Suicide Bowl. 5 days prior avalanche on east facing slope. Fracture was approximately 2 feet deep. This weak layer may have collapsed during old avalanche and has stabilized, but remains to be a lurking problem. Below treeline north facing slopes 150 - 200 cm deep.
