Snowpack

Pit near treeline on SE aspect. ~100cm, ~top 60cm 4F-P gradient(P on bottom). Ice lense below ~3cm new snow. ETC 26 (28 to propagate across full column) ~20 cm down in thin ( <1cm) layer of smaller ~1mm facets (in middle of 1F section of snow). Lower 30-40cm consists of very large facets. Column shifted while being isolated with a ski tail at the back but did not move further during test. Similar layers observed higher up same area last weekend (Mid upper-pack facet layer was more reactive, CT 23 with 40+ cm above layer, more significant wind loading above treeline. Skied low angle terrain down into trees and SE aspect below Jones pass road, no noticeable cracking or collapsing below treeline.
