1-2' of softer snow from the last couple storms overlies a somewhat stiff and supportive mid-pack slab in most areas. This slab is perched on persistent weak layers composed of large facets, depth hoar, surface hoar and crust/facet combinations. In shallow areas below treeline, the mid-pack slab is missing. new snow is bonding well to old snow surface except in isolated areas, where there were crusts, NSF's or SH.
