The avalanche photo is from along trail in lower Buffalo Pass, an area known as Beartree. We also observed a similar weak layer (below the storm snow from last week) in snowpits in an upper areas of fish creek. There were several layers (groppel and/or rain crust) within the storm snow and a reactive planar failure at about 1m, although the recent reported activity from there was already obscured and blown in so we did not find an obvious crown (at least where we were willing to go.)
