Snowpack

On the uptrack, which is in dark timber on a north facing slope, there were many locations that the new snow had a temperature crust. Maybe the sun hits it this time of year in the afternoon...but found that interesting. The snow on the descent was wind affected at the top but there was no cracking or slabby feeling. The snow lost any wind effect 200 feet below ridge and was nice cold dry snow. No signs of instabilities where we were. Nearby, on NE aspects rollerballs were common and triggering numerous Loose Wet sluffs in the new snow. All very shallow.
