At 10,000ft. below treeline winds calm, ridgeline winds 15 to 20mph, light snow in the morning clearing in afternoon

L - Above Nymph and Dream Lake, RMNP- E - Between 9200 and 10500ft. - A - North and East aspects. Widespread whooping and cracking while touring particularly on North and east slopes where the new snow was alittle more shallow (60 - 80cm new)and shallow buried objects in the near area. These cracks were running down the snowpack through new snow, a 40cm 4F windslab and large 1.5mm facets to the ground. Many of these whoops and cracks propagated across relatively flat slopes and across to terrain features such as convexities and up to base's of cliff bands. One notable event while traveling on a windy north facing flat ridgeline a whoop created a propagating crack running about 60m down the ridgeline and resulting in a large cornice collapse onto a 40 degree slope below. That slope had no reaction to the cornice drop.
